Dubai, February 27, 2025 – During the 2025 Milan Fashion Week, the Dubai Hub for Made in Italy by Italiacamp proudly welcomes the official inauguration of the Milano Fashion Library, bringing one of the most prestigious editorial collections dedicated to fashion, design, and Italian creativity to the Gulf region for the first time.
With an archive of over 70,000 publications spanning from 1958 to today, the Milano Fashion Library is a unique resource for designers, students, researchers, and industry enthusiasts. This initiative marks the beginning of a strategic collaboration between Dubai and Milan, two cities synonymous with innovation, luxury, and style.
The inaugural event, hosted at the Dubai Hub for Made in Italy, was attended by Italian and Emirati institutions, including H.E. Edoardo Napoli, Consul General of Italy in Dubai, Valerio Soldani, Director of the Italian Trade Agency in Dubai, and representatives from the DWTC Free Zone. Prominent figures from the worlds of fashion, art, and culture also took part in the event.
During the panel discussion, moderated by Araceli Gallego, Founder of Goshopia.com and UAE Fashion Revolution, Nadia Alhasani, Dean of the College of Arts & Design at the University of Sharjah, Pietro Allegretti, fashion tech entrepreneur, and Leo Cisotta, General Manager of Italiacamp EMEA, explored key topics shaping the future of fashion. These included the role of universities in training new generations of designers through an approach that integrates technology, sustainability, and interdisciplinary innovation. The discussion also highlighted the importance of historical archives and their cultural value, as well as the impact of digitalization and NFTs on the accessibility of editorial heritage and the preservation of fashion memory.
The initiative also introduced a semi-permanent exhibition space, featuring thematic exhibitions dedicated to the history of Italian fashion, beauty, and design. The inaugural exhibition traces the origins of fashion magazines in the late 19th century through a selection of historical publications, showcasing their evolution into the digital age with the integration of NFT content.
With the arrival of the Milano Fashion Library, the Dubai Hub for Made in Italy establishes itself as a leading reference for Italian fashion in the region while also standing out as a cultural hub—a space where the public can immerse themselves in fashion and art, exploring new creative languages and opportunities for inspiration.
